Abbreviated as WWRY which stands for We Will Rock You the musical, is a jukebox musical, based on the songs of Queen and derived their name from their hit single of the same name. The musical was prepared by Ben Elton (British comedian and author) in association with Brian May and Roger Taylor (Queen Members). A jukebox musical is a stage musical that uses formerly released admired songs as its musical score. Typically, the songs have in general a relationship with a certain well-liked musician or group – either for the reason that they were written by, or for, the artists in question. The Genius of Stomp The Musical

Have you ever seen Stomp The Musical? It has some of the most interesting instruments used for musical instruments I have ever used or thought of. Using trash cans with balled up socks as mallets for percussion; that is simply genius to tell the truth. Who would think that something so simple would become one of the most watched performances to hit Broadway?
You can use anything as a musical instrument if you know what you’re doing, but to use it like these people it takes some talent. Banging the lids of trash cans in time is easy, getting it to not clash with other instruments would be difficult, unless the others are playing instruments that are designed to hold your trash. With the choreography and timing of these songs used, the excellent performers and the simple instruments this really is something that everyone should see. READ MORE »

In the world of music there is something for everyone. For the rock fans there are bands from all ages that entertain us with their loud guitars and pounding drums.

For pop fans we have chart hits and the songs that we hear regularly on the radio. For fans of classical music, there are CDs with orchestral songs from the past and present in all music shops. Then of course, for fans of everything else there is definitely something on offer.

Music is all around us, from the ringtones on our phones to the headphones from our mp3s. It is a popular art form that has kept us entertained for generations and made record companies millions.

The popularity of music is cemented every year with shows such as The X Factor appearing on our screens, which has made stars out of the likes of Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke, whilst providing enormous revenue for their managers. It is also cemented by the success of movies, where music plays a large role in helping the director convey a particular emotion or message.

This is most obvious in cases such as High School Musical 3 or 2008’s hit Mamma Mia! where music played a large part in making them so successful.

Music is here to stay and rightfully so. It is a huge part of the world we inhabit…and the Earth is a lot better for it.
